About

Aji-Mallen Sanneh

Aji-Mallen Sanneh is a systems builder focused on designing and leading long-term, community-centered initiatives that strengthen resilience, dignity, and opportunity.

Over the past eighteen years, she has worked across more than 50 countries at the intersection of global health, policy, and institutional strategy. Her leadership has spanned multilateral financing environments, professional medical institutions, and cross-sector partnerships, where she has mobilized capital, built durable alliances, and supported large-scale initiatives serving underserved populations.

Aji’s work is grounded in a simple conviction: lasting impact requires more than programs. It requires structure. Across her career, she has focused on building thoughtful systems that align people, resources, and long-term vision. Her experience spans youth development, livelihood and production systems, and locally rooted enterprise-building, with a consistent focus on sustainability, access, and disciplined execution.

She is particularly drawn to work that strengthens communities from within and ensures that the systems shaping opportunity are built to endure.

Aji operates at the intersection of social responsibility and partnership strategy, embedding equity and inclusion into the foundations of the initiatives she leads rather than treating them as secondary considerations. Her work prioritizes access, representation, and durable capacity, particularly in environments where structural gaps limit opportunity.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from York University and a joint Master of Science in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from the London School of Economics (LSE) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Her academic training informs her structural approach and commitment to disciplined execution.

Aji approaches her work with intellectual curiosity and a long-term perspective shaped by global experience.
